Scaling attending People to People medicine summit
Micah Scaling, 14 and a student at Casper Classical Academy, will join a select group of youth as People to People student leaders from June 11-20.
Scaling will attend a summit at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. As part of the medicine program, he will be taught by doctors at the university’s hospital and be on-site throughout the summit.
Students accepted into People to People are chosen on their outstanding scholastic merit, civic involvement and leadership potential.
He is the son of Dr. Sam and Lisa Scaling of Casper.
Gunderson graduates from Macalester College
Alexis Gunderson, the daughter of Terence & Patricia Gunderson of Casper, was among 453 seniors graduating from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn., on May 17.
Gunderson, a Natrona County High School graduate, received a degree in Russian studies.
She also received The Gateway Prize for Excellent Writing. A cash prize is awarded annually to a student who has demonstrated excellent writing skills. The paper is judged for readability, clarity and ability to make and defend an argument.
Martin named to Dean’s Honor List
Miranda Martin was named to the Dean’s Honor List for the spring 2008 semester at Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa.
To be named to the Dean’s Honor List, students must earn a 3.67 GPA or better and complete at least 12 credits of course work.
