NCSD discussing kindergarten enrollment procedures

The Natrona County School District is working to determine kindergarten enrollment preferences.

This procedure helps determine which children have first priority if a school cannot accommodate the number of kindergartners who sign up.

Decisions made by this process will impact the school choice process for the 2008-09 school year. The district will use the Interest-Based Agreement Process, or IBAP model, to make this decision.

A second day of meetings is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at the Central Services Facility.

To share your perspective with the committee, you may e-mail comments to carol_glasgow@ncsd.k12.wy.us.

Star Lane dedication planned

Star Lane Center will host an open house and dedication of its new building at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10; and hors d’ouerves will be served.

The school’s new home is the renovated and partially rebuilt Fairdale Elementary School building at 1400 S. Fairdale Ave.

The dedication ceremony will include brief speeches by school staff, Superintendent Jim Lowham and members of the Natrona County School District board of trustees.

School board meets Dec. 10

The Natrona County School District board of trustees will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at the Central Services Facility.

Due to the Star Lane Center dedication that evening, no work session will be held prior to the board meeting.

All school board meetings are open to the public.

Special ed IBAP continues

Members of an Interest-Based Agreement Process team studying staffing allocations for special education will meet from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday and Saturday, Dec. 13 and 15, in the Central Services Facility.
