Happy New Year from your Natrona County Public Library!
One of the most common elements of a new year is the crafting of resolutions to jumpstart changes in our lives. NCPL has a great way to get you started, especially if your resolutions include any of the following: improving your grades or study habits, obtaining a GED, returning to school, helping your kids with their homework or winning the lottery.
We can’t actually help you win the lottery, but we do have a great contest that could make you a winner in 2008! From Jan. 9-25, NCPL will hold weekly drawings for a chance to win Chamber Bucks that can be used virtually anywhere in Casper. All you need is your library card!
To enter the drawing, log on to our Web site, www.natronacountylibrary.org, and try out Live Homework Help, a professional online tutoring service offered by NCPL since August 2007. Simply click the link at the bottom of the page to get started.
Once connected, request homework help from a professional tutor, or ask for a tour of the online classroom. Then stop by any service desk at the main library or one of our branches and enter to win.
Parents, teachers, tutors and students all can benefit from knowing how Live Homework Help works. To kick off the new semester, NCPL will hold a Live Homework Help family night on Thursday, Jan. 10.
Stop by the library’s Crawford Room from 6-8 p.m. for live demonstrations, step-by-step instructions and snacks. Computers also will be available throughout the building, so you can connect to a tutor and enter the drawing immediately.
Live Homework Help is an online tutoring program designed to assist students in grades 4-12 and introductory college courses with homework in the core subject areas of math, science, social studies and English.
Professional tutors provide real-time assistance in a setting that is fitting for a technology-driven generation. Live Homework Help is available daily from 3-9 p.m., and can be accessed from any computer with Internet capability.
Remember, Live Homework Help isn’t just for those daily homework assignments. Tutors can provide research assistance for science fair projects or History Day reports, and are available to discuss themes and characters in classic novels and edit English essays.
Live Homework Help® is a great resource for parents helping their children through tough homework assignments, and for adults preparing for the GED or heading back to school this spring.
Live Homework Help has been available through your Natrona County Public Library since August. More than 300 students and parents already have taken advantage of this invaluable resource.
If you haven’t logged on, now is your chance to get answers and register for a chance to win great prizes. To learn more about Live Homework Help, call 577-READ.
