Chester Arthur Schossow

A funeral service for Chester Arthur Schossow, 81, was held at 1 p.m. July 16, 2008, at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, with Pastor Todd von Gunten officiating.

Mr. Schossow died July 11, 2008, in Casper. He was born Aug. 12, 1926, in Beulah, N.D., to Martin Henry and Susie (Dancer) Schossow.

On June 17, 1947, he married Agatha Rasch in Wibaux, Mont.

Mr. Schossow served in the United States Navy during World War II from 1944-46. He then enlisted in the Reserves from 1947-52 in Okinawa.

He worked in the oil fields for many years.

A member of the Moose and American Legion, Mr. Schossow’s hobbies were rebuilding old tractors and cars.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Shirley Schossow and June Skipper, and a son, Charles “Chuck” (Jodie) Schossow, all of Casper; two grandsons, Dempsey L. Patrick and Jeremiah (Dawn) Schossow, and two granddaughters, Sabrina (Vaughn) Sulzle and Lindsie Schossow, all of Casper; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Stanley, two sisters, Ione and Lois, and a daughter, Brenda.

Newcomer Family Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
