Wilma C. Hoffman

A celebration of the life of Wilma C. Hoffman, 94, was held at 10 a.m. July 19, 2008, at the Casper Senior Center. Cremation had taken place.

A private inurnment was held at Highland Cemetery.

Mrs. Hoffman died July 14, 2008, at Park Place Assisted Living. She was born March 22, 1914, in Cherry County, Neb., to Otto Wilhelm and Rosa Bell (Anderson) Pearson.

She graduated from Mullen (Neb.) High School and received an associate degree in business administration from Casper College on June 3, 1966, at the age of 53.

On July 3, 1935, she married Charles Sherman Hoffman in Martin, S.D. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1988.

Mrs. Hoffman was a Cub Scout and 4-H leader and was active in Home Extension clubs. She served as executive secretary for the Wyoming Dental Association, retiring from there at age 65.

Her later years were spent enjoying her family and exercising, and she was a 30-year active member of the Casper Senior Center.

Survivors include a son, Don Hoffman of Casper; two daughters, Charline Ross of Casper and Marilyn Osse of Pierre, S.D.; a brother, Fred Pearson of Houston; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three children, Ella LaVern Hoffman, Nora Rose VanBurgh and Guy Wesley Hoffman.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Casper Senior Center or to the Wilma C. Hoffman Scholarship Fund at Casper College.
