Am I really that smart?

Being invited to the National Junior Honors Society Is a BIG deal for all teenagers -- leading to scholarships, big opportunities and, of course, praise from your parents.
But, before this can all begin, you must go through the welcoming ceremony, where NJHS members welcome you with certificates, punch and cookies.
While waiting to walk up the stage to get my certificate, my dad had noticed that my name wasn’t on the bulletin. When he asked the leader of NJHC why my name wasn’t on there, she had said, “Oh, well, she got her invitation late, so we forgot to add her on the bulletin! Sorry for that!”
Ah, I was fine with that; it was ONLY my name. But when I was called up to receive my certificate, one of the leaders said to me, “You get a special certificate!”
She then handed me a piece of paper that read, “You will receive your certificate later this week. Sorry for the error!”
Of course, I smiled very big in front of everyone while on the stage getting that piece of paper. That’s what I think made the night -- not getting the actual certificate, but getting that reaction in front of everyone that was watching.
