Bricks bring back memories

Today, my mom, brother and sister all went down to the school district building to pick up bricks.
Sounds a bit odd, huh?
Well, we went there, because McKinley School was being torn down! So bricks were being passed out for a memory of the school.
I didn’t go to McKinley, but I DID go there, one time or another in my life. My great grandma lives about half a block away from the school grounds, and when you’re bored at your Grandma’s with nothing to do, a school playground doesn’t sound too bad to go hang out on.
So I guess I did have some sort of connection to the school, in a different way than everyone else.
When all four of us went to pick up a piece of the school (bricks), I noticed a reporter there. Wow! Kind of weird, I think. We would both be reporting the same story!
Maybe I can be considered a “reporter in training”
I like the sound of that.
