Gibson sets state mark; NC second in slalom
Natrona County senior Baillie Gibson set a new Wyoming State High School Indoor Track and Field record in the shot put while winning the event Friday in Laramie. Her toss was 47 feet, one-half inch.

Mustangs, Fillies win regional titles, take top seeds to state
Both the Natrona County High School boys’ and girls’ teams will have No. 1 seeds in this week’s Class 4A State Basketball Tournament in Casper after winning 4A West Regional tourney titles at Star Valley High School.

2010 Tier II Girls 19U Northern Plains District Playoff Champions.
Team Wyoming Girls 19U Ice Hockey Team won the 2010 Tier II Girls 19U Northern Plains District Playoff in Rapid City, S.D., the weekend of Feb. 26-28. The team defeated the Brookings Rangers (SD) 6-0 and the Big Sky Wildcats (MT) 4-0 to advance to the championship game. Team Wyoming Girls beat the Brookings Rangers 3-1 to win the championship. Team Wyoming Girls scored 13 goals in the three games and only allowed one goal. The USA Hockey National 19U Girls Tier II Tournament will be held April 7-11 in East Lansing, Mich. Kelly Walsh senior Malachi Bennett won the 1-meter diving title at the Class 4A State Swimming and Diving Championships last weekend. He totaled 475.70 points.

1st Annual Casper Coed Volleyball Tournament April 24 and 25
The 1st Annual Casper Coed Volleyball Tournament, hosted by the City of Casper Recreation Division, will be held Saturday April 24 and Sunday April 25, 2010. It is anticipated teams throughout the region will participate. Saturday play will consist of 5 to 6 team pools playing a round robin format resulting in their placement in the Sunday double elimination bracket. Matches will be played at the Casper Recreation Center and Natrona County School District facilities.
